My name is Dwaine Curran, I reside in Carlisle and I am a Democratic Candidate for State Representantive in the 72nd District. It includes the counties of Bath, Bourbon, Nicholas, and the North East Quadrant of Fayette.

It was said by Aristotle: "Democracy is when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers" I often hear people say that "I am a Democrat just so that I can vote in the Primaries." Which, if you aren't a Democrat this is basically true in most rural areas. I tell them there is a reason for that and to visit kydemocrat.com and democrats.org to view the democratic platform. I tell them that it sounds like your local leaders care about you.

What's wrong with being associated with a party that desires all Americans the opportunity for good education, great job to provide for their families, great retirement, affordable health care, victory over Al Qaeda in Afghanistan then taking care of our veterans, less of a tax burden on the working class and a more efficient government that cares about our planet. It's America's Promise. I ask them "what's wrong with that?"

That's that legislation that I will seek to push through. These principles are what should remain in Frankfort as we enter the second decade of this millennium.
