Drug Forum - Bath County High School
Last Thursday evening I had the opportunity to take part in the drug forum held at the Bath Co High School, it was indeed an eye-opening event! The harsh reality of drug abuse and subsequent problems that stem from them are plaguing today’s society. The physical and mental deterioration of the abuser and his or her family, murder, suicide, thievery, prostitution, truancy, unemployment, divorce, tax evasion, and the list goes on. The Kentucky State Police provided a semi-trailer mock meth lab to educate those of us that have not been exposed to this issue. I was impressed with the passion of the educators and the state police officers that presented this program who are sadly required to deal with these issues on a regular basis. There is simple legislation that can curb “our” drug problem and I can say that in order for us to put Kentucky first, this must be one our top priorities!
